Congratulations to the champions and wildcard teams from the 2010 USTA League Tennis Senior Mixed Mississippi Championships!
Once again the hospitality was overwhelming in Cleveland. Each morning freshly brewed coffee, orange juice and HOME MADE goodies greeted our players. Friday night over 200 participants were treated to a great barbeque dinner.
Friday and Saturday we had beautiful weather, but that did not last through Sunday. On Sunday all play suspended due to rain. Fortunately in most divisions a clear champion was established prior to the rain. Only in the 7.0 division was the champion undecided as that finals match was only half-way completed. Again we were fortunate that MS did have the wildcard to Sectionals in that division, so both teams will advance. Unable to complete the matches, a coin toss determined the distinction of champion. Team Stamps from Jackson will serve as our champion and Team Skelton from the Delta will advance as our wildcard team. Good luck to all our teams during the Sectional event which will be held in Jackson, MS in mid October.
